Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 11th September - All 25 seen

A rather misty start on Gelvert this morning.  Eight youngsters and seven of the yearlings all came wandering along the side of the large fishing lake and had a graze in the area around the fishing hut and neighbouring trees before heading off down Bourley Lane at 08:20 this morning.  Yearling 238 was lagging behind, grazing at ///simmer.revives.prove at the side of the lake before she wandered off to catch up with the others.

Older cow 21 was found grazing in the trees at ///luxury.prices.headers.  The other four older boys were a little further up at ///bill.curve.scripted.  Cow 30 was in the trees munching leaves, cow 20 was at the side of the path also munching on leaves while cows 33 and 35 were standing relaxing, chewing their cud.

The four I couldn't find yesterday, cows 72, 222, 235 and 940, were still together and were grazing deep in the trees at ///inhales.mystified.release at 09:30.  They were all munching on leaves.  Cow 72 was really attacking and snapping thick branches trying to get the best leaves.

All the cows were good this morning.
