Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 1st October - 19 seen

Older cows 20, 30, 33, 35, 72 and 940 plus youngsters 213, 219, 220, 226 and 228 plus yearlings 238, 241 and 247 were all grazing at the side of the large fishing lake at 13:20 this afternoon.  Most were eating leaves from the trees, but the yearlings were all busy munching on grass.

Youngsters 217 and 221 were seen grazing around ///irritated.trace.wake about 20 minutes later.  Yearling 248 was grazing close by.

Older cow 21 and youngster 235 were grazing together in the area in front of the car park at the fishing hut at 14:35.  They were both still there at 16:00.

I've absolutely no idea where the other six - cows 222, 230, 242, 244, 245 and 257 - were hiding this afternoon, but they weren't found despite an exhaustive search of the site.

All the cows that were found were good.
