Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 10th October - 24 seen

A mixed group of eighteen cows was seen at the top end of the site around ///screening.grad.anode at 14:30 this afternoon.  Cows 35 and 217 were lying down amongst the trees.  The others were mostly lying down out in the open in the warm afternoon sunshine, resting and chewing their cud.  They were fairly widely spread and were in small groups.  Yearlings 241 and 242, while not in the same group, were doing their best to hide by burying themselves in the bracken.

Youngsters 213, 226 and 235; and yearlings 248 and 257 were seen in the area around ///seriously.honestly.steps at 16:30.  Older 33 was grazing deep in the thicket on the higher ground around ///than.handlebar.jumbled.   I suspect older cow 21 was somewhere in the same area, but I couldn't find him.  I thought his tall horns might have given him up, but unfortunately not.

The cows that were seen were all good.
