Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

0900 Monday 31st Oct 17 seen, is that all we have now? Have the 'H's been removed?

Five, 220, 221, 222, 226, and 230 were grazing on the open area just down from the fishing lake ///shakes.dumps.veto. They look well. They had moved on when we passed that way later.

The other 12 were seen grazing either side of the land bridge ///uncouth.form.swelling. They too looked well.

Cow 035 only tag is a small blue one on it's left. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Saturday 29th October - 17 seen

Guessing that the eight yearlings were removed yesterday?  And that the four escapees were returned to Gelvert yesterday as well?

The seventeen original cows were all seen in the area around ///efficient.barstool.lies at 10:15 this morning.  Cows 30, 220, 222, 226 and 228 were busy grazing.  It looked like the other twelve, including the four that had escaped to Caesar's, were having a lazy Saturday and hadn't long got up.  Eleven were standing in the trees, chewing their cud and pondering their day ahead.  Cow 213 was still lying down.  They all slowly wandered off and started grazing.

The cows were all good today.

    Friday, 28 October 2022

    Friday 28th October Only 2, 238 and 241, seen

They were seen from a culvert in a boggy area. Both looked well. None of the others were seen. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Thursday, 27 October 2022

Thursday 27th October. Not gone out.

As Tom said the H cows were been moved from Gelvert today, my looking seemed unnecessary.

Hurrah! The 'Missing Four' have been found. UPDATE

After concerns were raised about the missing 4 cows from gelvert, we headed out to find them. Luckily, they had just hopped the fence into Caesar's Camp. I found them here ///again.bugs.define.

We have decided to leave them on Caesars because we will be moving the other cows over soon. Keep an eye on your blogs for updates. You don't have to come over and check both Caesar's and Gelvert as part of your normal lookering as this will take hours!  Just keep an eye on what's been seen and staff will fill in gaps doing the same when they can.

The H named Cows will be coming off of Gelvert tomorrow but the blog will be updated accordingly.

Wednesday 26th October - 21 seen but the 4 have been found!

Cows 21, 33, 222, 228, 238 and 247 were all grazing around ///vase.dozed.snoozing at 08:55 this morning. Cows 72, 217, 226 and 940 were found grazing in the trees around ///also.mixer.blotting very near the Bourley Road a short while later. Cows 20, 30, 220, 221, 230, 241, 242, 248 and 257 were fairly widely spread out, but were all grazing in the area around ///titles.grasp.polishing at the side of the fishing lakes at 09:40. Most headed to the trees for shelter when the heavy showers passed through. Yearlings 244 and 245 were together grazing in the thicket around ///scout.plugs.bagels at 11:10.
Again there was no sign of cows 35, 213, 219 or 235 this morning. All the others were good today. Many thanks to Jack and Tom for joining the search for the four "missing" cows today. Delighted Tom found them. They were certainly looking well and appeared to be loving life back on Caesar's!

    Monday, 24 October 2022

    Monday 24th October 17 seen

We saw 13 cows as we arrived in the corner where Gelvert, Ceasers and the Bourley Road meet. As we were leaving they were in the area around the fishermans tea hut.

The other 4 were by the land bridge at the top of the lake. Apart from 021 who had a problem with his tail both groups were looking a bit bedraggled but well.

    Not seen are 035, 213, 219, 235, 238, 242, 247, and 257. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Sunday, 23 October 2022

    Sunday 23rd October - 21 seen - again no 35, 213, 219 or 235

Again, I wasn't able to find Buzz, Ginge, Gilbert or Goldilocks today.  Getting very worried about them now.  Carried out an exhaustive search of the site and they were nowhere to be found.  Also had a quick look on Caesar's Camp and there was no sign of them there either.  Really hoping someone from HIWWT can entice them out of hiding with some cattle nuts.

Older cows 21, 33, 72 and 940 were grazing in the area around ///sliders.kiosk.meant near Bourley Road at 11:30.  The other two older cows, 20 and 30, were grazing nearby.  They were all very wet.

Yearlings 238, 242, 247 and 257 were hunting for acorns at ///climate.immunity.paler twenty-five mins later.  The ground there was very soggy today, but that wasn't putting them off.

Yearlings 241 and 248 were found deep in the trees around ///twitching.verges.serve at 12:40.  Youngsters 217, 220, 221, 222, 226, 228 and 230 plus yearlings 244 and 245 were all found widely spread out in the same area.  They were all searching for grass or acorns before resorting to munching on gorse and holly.  Cow 217 was even eating mushrooms.

All the cows that were found were good today.

    Saturday, 22 October 2022

    Saturday 22nd October - 21 seen - still no 35, 213, 219 or 235

Getting very concerned I wasn't able to find Buzz, Ginge, Gilbert or Goldilocks again today.  It's been over a week since I last saw them.  Searched the site high and low for hours today and still couldn't find them.  Hope they are ok.

Yearlings 238, 241, 244, 245 and 248 were all found around ///blotting.cares.cosmetic at 10:35 this morning.  They were all busy munching on grass.

Youngsters 220 and 226 were grazing at ///womanly.fortnight.deprive.   Cow 226 was soaking - she had dried out some when I ran into her again later in the afternoon.  Youngsters 217, 221, 222, 228 and 230 were all grazing relatively close by.

Older cows 20, 21, 30, 33 and 940 were all found grazing in the area around ///verdict.burying.grub at 12:20.  They were all spread out eating alone.  Older cow 72 was found munching on a holly bush at ///transit.stance.umbrella.

Yearlings 247 and 257 were found hunting for acorns around ///calls.pizzeria.offerings at 15:05.  Yearling 242 was stood chewing his cud, but soon joined in the fun.  Searched for another hour, but couldn't find the missing four.

All the cows that were found were good today.

    Friday, 21 October 2022

Friday- all seen but Ginge, Goldilocks and the little black Shetland with horns. Hopefully they appear over the weekend!

    Friday 21st October 15 seen

Finally we found two by the end of the pond that feeds into the fishing lake ///nerves.bikes.richest, then we noticed another. By the time we had the numbers 3 more joined them. Over the next 20 minutes in dribs and drabs, some walking some running, another the other 9 turned up. They all looked well and were drinking and grazing on anything green.

    Not seen were 035, 213, 217, 219, 221, 228, 235, 244, 245, and 248. Stay Safe, Marina & Des
