Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 26th March - All 26 seen

The cows were all gathered under the trees in the far southeast corner of the site at 09:50 this morning. They were all resting, with most chewing their cud. A short time later, several of the cows started to lie down and relax. They were all happy and looking well. By 10:15, about half of the cows had emerged from the trees and had started to graze, eating lots of grass. Fifteen minutes later, all the cows had got up and the whole herd had stretched their legs and wandered along to the stream to have a drink. They were all on their best behaviour and queued up patiently. After those that wanted a drink had finished, the herd then started to graze. They were slowly making their way back towards the corner when I left them at 11:00.

The graze on youngster 220's foot wasn't visible today.
The cows were all good today.
