Half the herd were relaxing and chewing their cud in the warm sunshine around the path in the southeast corner of the site at 10:25 this morning. They were all happy and looking well. Many of the cows came and said hello. Steer 227 received a long head and neck rub as he was chewing his cud. The other half were spread out, enjoying lots of grass in the area in front of them. They, too, were happy and relaxed.
Just before 11:00 some of the cows started to lie down in little groups and rest. They certainly appeared to be enjoying the sun. Over the next fifteen minutes, more cows took the weight off their feet and lay down among the others.
The cows were all good today.
