Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 9th March - All 4 seen

The cows were all gathered near the large tree around ///fish.dolly.ridge at 12:40 this afternoon. Steer 227 was standing, relaxing and chewing his cud. Cow 234 was nestled in the trees behind him, before she came out to say hello. She then went and joined cow 214, who was standing under the large tree. They both had a scratch on some branches before they stood together and chewed their cud.

By 12:55 steer 227 had lay down. Cow 215 wandered over and sat down beside him. They both started to relax and chew their cud. Cow 215 had a red patch beside her front right leg. I suspect she had been licking it, which made it look worse that it was. The cows were all happy and were looking well. The cows were all good today.
