Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 21st March - All 26 seen

A mixed group of twenty cows were lying down and resting in the pasture around ///arena.clincher.plant at 12:50 this afternoon.  Steer 197 was up and about and grazing nearby.  They were mostly relaxing and chewing their cud, with a few snoozing.  Youngsters 217 and 228 were lying on their sides taking a nap.  Steer 35's foot was looking much better today (photo below).  And I've no idea what cow 215 had been up to, but her head and face were covered in mud.  She got up to say hello and was happy to receive a head rub, which got rid of a fair bit. She then lay back down to rest some more.  They were all looking well.

Sussex steers 210 and 1626 and British White cow 234 were lying down relaxing and chewing their cud on the pasture opposite around ///airbrush.pull.gear.  Cow 214 and steer 1640 were grazing next to them.  They were all happy and relaxed.

The cows were all good today.
