Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Tuesday 8th August - All 19 seen - fence good

A mixed group of fourteen cows were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///opts.summit.ears at 16.40 this late afternoon.   Despite being rather damp, they were all happy and very relaxed.

Youngsters 222 and 230 were grazing together around ///tiptoes.laces.plots at 17:00.  Older steer 35 was grazing at the bottom of the steep hill around ///dive.tripling.greet.  Youngster 220 was doing a bit of hill climbing on the slope to the east of him a short time later.  Finally, found youngster 217 at 17:30.  Turned out he was grazing on the slope not too far from youngster 220, but he'd activated stealth mode and I missed him several times 😀.  He wandered out of the thicket and came and said hello.

The cows were all good today.   The Beacon Hill Road fence was also good.
