Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Wednesday 21st February - All 4 seen - Cow 214 has a scratch on her side + some fence damage

The four cows were in the area around ///pursue.adding.dined at 15:30 this afternoon.  Steer 227 was standing chewing his cud in some light rain.  Cows 215 and 234 were busy munching on grass.  Cow 214 was standing chewing her cud under the trees on the opposite side of the path.   Despite being wet, they were all happy and looking well.  Steer 227 soon wandered over to say hello and receive his ear rub.

Cow 214 had a small scratch on her right-hand side, near her front leg.  At first glance, it looked like a tick bite.  Not sure if ticks are active in February, though?

The army had set up a large camouflaged tent on the opposite side of the trees to where the cows were grazing.  I also noticed that a large tree branch had fallen on the barbed wire fence around ///fastening.hound.waving.  I was able to lift the branch and balance it on the fence post.  The top rail of barbed wire needs fixing, both on that section and a couple of sections to the left.

The cows were all good today.
