All cows have been loved back to Caesars including the 4 British whites. 2 Sussex have collars on but I think only one may be working unfortunately.

Monday 1st April - All 26 seen

The cows were all gathered at the northern end of the main pasture, near the Bourley Road, at 13.50 this afternoon.  Most of the cows were eating grass, with a few resting and chewing their cud.  They were all happy and relaxed and looking well.  Yearling 270 was very friendly today, coming over to say hello and then standing and chewing his cud beside me for over five minutes.

The cows continued to graze, with half of the herd heading towards the wooded southeast corner.  The other half began to split away at about 14:25, when they waded through the muddy ditch to graze in the pasture near the main gate.  A few of the cows enjoyed some leaves from the bramble bushes, while the others munched on the grass.

The cows were all good today.

Sunday 31st March - All 26 seen

Happy Easter!

The cows were all gathered at the northern end of the main pasture, near the Bourley Road, at 12.25 this afternoon.  They were all either relaxing and chewing their cud, lying down resting or happily grazing.  Steers 20, 30, 217, 219 and 222 plus cows 940 and 1396 were all lying down resting.  Several of the cows were very friendly and came and said hello.  Steers 197 and 227 stood and received long head rubs, while cow 215 preferred a back rub.

After a while, the cows started to graze back towards the southeast corner.  They were all enjoying lots of grass as they went.  Steers 30, 217 and 219 got up just after 13:05 and quickly caught up with the rest of the herd.  The cows were all happy and relaxed and looking well this afternoon.

The cows were all good today.

Saturday 30th March - All 26 seen

Half the herd were relaxing and chewing their cud in the warm sunshine around the path in the southeast corner of the site at 10:25 this morning. They were all happy and looking well. Many of the cows came and said hello. Steer 227 received a long head and neck rub as he was chewing his cud. The other half were spread out, enjoying lots of grass in the area in front of them. They, too, were happy and relaxed. Just before 11:00 some of the cows started to lie down in little groups and rest. They certainly appeared to be enjoying the sun. Over the next fifteen minutes, more cows took the weight off their feet and lay down among the others. The cows were all good today.

Friday 29th March - All 26 seen

The cows were all grazing in the main pasture at 11:40 this morning.  They slowly wandered down to the Bourley Road before turning around and heading back.  The ground was fairly waterlogged, so there was lots of squelching going on.  The cows were all happy and relaxed.   When there was an occasional shower, many of the cows headed for shelter under the trees on the east side of the site, before coming back out when the rain stopped.

The cows were all looking well.  They were a little damp, but were drying off in the breeze.  The sun also came out shortly before I left them an hour later, which was also helping.  The cows were very friendly today, with several coming over to say hello and stand with me for a while.  Steers 197 and 227 were happy to receive ear rubs.

The cows were all good today.

Thursday 28th March - All 26 seen

Thirteen of the Caesar's originals and the four British Whites were busy munching on grass in the first two grassy sections on the northwest side of the site at 15.20 this afternoon.  The other two originals, steers 21 and 30, were eating leaves among the trees and bushes in the centre section of the site.  The cows had obviously been hunkered down somewhere for most of the day avoiding the rain, as they were all much drier than I was expecting.  Several of the cows came and said hello as I was wandering around.

Six of the Sussex cows were grazing together in the next section to the south.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  Steer 1640 was doing his best to hide, and was grazing in the thicket near the fence around ///scarf.garlic.moderated.  He, too, was looking well.

The cows were all good today.
