Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 20th - Evening - All 17 seen - Water Tank Refilled

All 17 cows were sat down chewing the cud in the area around ///part.printout.prettiest at 17:40.  They were all ok.

Met Ned from the Grazing Team who was just positioning the trailer with the refilled water tank into place.   The trough was about half full but it started filling up after it was connected to the tank.   The cows were curious and decided to come over and have a drink.

0900 Mon 20th Sept. Water tank empty, trough full

All 17 seen grazing in and around the central trees not far from the trough. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Sunday 19th - All 17 seen

The cows were all together at ///unlocking.cries.exhaled at 15:10 this afternoon.  Sixteen of them were sat/lying down relaxing.  Youngster 222 was the only one up and about, wandering around munching grass.  They were all fine.

Their trough was full of water, however, the tank is already just below 1/4 full and is going to need to be refilled (photo below).

    Saturday 18th - All 17 seen

The cows are now in Camp 45.   Fourteen were standing in the trees at ///sway.smashes.nuzzled at 11:20.  Cows 21 and 33 were sat in the grass nearby, while yearling 221 was wandering around in front of them munching grass.    All the cows were fine but there were a lot of flies bothering them.

Their trough was full of water.

When I walked past again at 11:50 they had all left the trees and had starting grazing in the direction of Bourley Road.   Cows 21 and 33 hadn't moved.
