Tuesday 25th July - All 19 seen

Steers 21, 30, 217, 219, 220, 222, 228 and 270 were all lying down relaxing and enjoying the warm afternoon sun on the grass just in front of the car park at the fishing hut at 16:35.  Youngster 230 was busy munching on fresh grass on the far side of the small fence.  Yearling 271 got up, had a stretch and then started munching as well.

Cows 20, 72, 227 and 940 were grazing in the area around ///kebabs.readjust.scary at 17:25.  Steers 33 and 35 were munching on grass a bit further along the path.  The three British White girls, cows 214, 215 and 234, were grazing a bit further along around ///about.sweep.group.  They all continued to graze happily, heading in a northerly direction.  All nine cows then slowly and carefully descended the very steep hill before stopping to graze on the long grass at the bottom around ///silver.grafted.accented.

The cows were all good today.

Sunday 23rd July - All 19 seen

Youngster 220 was found grazing at the side of the path around ///many.awoke.hush at 10:15 this morning.  Yearling 270 was grazing just ahead of him.  Steers 227 and 230 emerged from the thicket to the side of him as well.  All four slowly wandered down the hill, grazing as they went.

Steers 20, 21, 33, 35 and 219 were all found grazing a bit further down the path around ///whiplash.goal.plus.  I was just checking them over when a galloping youngster 217 appeared.  I suspect he had been left behind in the woods that 227 and 230 emerged from.  He seemed relieved to have caught up with his herd mates.

Cows 30, 222, 228 and 234 were munching on leaves in the thicket just down from the group of six.  Several of the others soon joined them.

By 10:45 youngsters 219 and 220 plus yearlings 270 and 271 had made it down as far as ///sadly.outlast.steepest where they were happily grazing on the fresh grass at the side of the path.

Found the final four girls, cows 72, 214, 215 and 940, grazing together in the area around ///pelting.accent.fond at 11.05.  They had wandered quite a bit away from the others, but were all happily munching in the thicket.  Steers 30 and 230 soon joined them.

By 11:45, fifteen of the cows had gathered on the east bank of the smaller fishing lake.  They were all munching on the grass, with many taking a drink from the lake.  The other four, cows 30, 72, 228 and 940, joined them at noon.  By 12:20 the whole gang had made it to the trees at the side of the larger fishing lake.  Several cows lay down to rest, while the others stood and chewed their cud.

The cows were all good today.

Saturday 22nd July - All 19 seen

The cows were all together in the same area, down beside the Bourley Road, but spread out in little groups at 09.15 this morning.   Cows 214 and 234 were together on one side of the path around ///fields.wand.sued.  Cow 234 lying down, relaxing chewing her cud, with cow 214 standing close by.  Cows 20, 30, 215, 219, 222, 228 and 230 were all busy munching on fresh grass on the opposite side of the path.  

Older cow 940 was lying down chewing her cud around ///prestige.windmills.bits.  Cow 72 was standing beside her also chewing her cud.  Cows 220, 227, 270 and 271 were happily grazing close by.

Older cow 35 and youngster 217 were standing amongst the bracken to the north-east of them.  They, too, were chewing their cud.  Older cows 21 and 33 were a bit further down amongst the thicket around ///social.goat.rationed, where they were breaking branches from trees and munching on the leaves.  

By 10:20 the cows had all grouped together on both sides of the path around where cows 214 and 234 were initially found.  They were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud.  Occasionally they'd take a break to rest their eyes or have a stretch.  The two yearlings were super hungry today and continued to munch on the fresh grass, lying down with the others about 10 minutes later.

The cows were all good today.

Wednesday 19th July - All 19 seen

Cows 72, 214, 222 and 940 were standing relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///rash.spouse.hiker at 17.55 this evening.  Cow 215 and yearling 270 were lying down together on the other side of the path.  They, too, were relaxing and chewing their cud.  Yearling 271 was busy munching on fresh grass close by.

After a good walk around the site and not finding the others, I headed back to the area where I found the first seven, only to find all nineteen cows standing on the patch of grass in front of the car park near the fishing hut at 19.15.   Most were all standing together, resting and chewing their cud.   Cow 234 was standing a bit further along the path around the large lake, with older cow 72 even further along the path, munching on grass at the side.  After a short while, they all wandered off down to the area where the first seven were found and started to spread out and graze.   They were all still happily grazing when I left them about twenty minutes later.

The cows were all good this evening.

Tuesday 18th July - All 19 seen

Cows 214, 215, 227, 234 plus yearling 271 were all lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud on the patch of grass around ///koala.kiosk.blesses near the fishing hut at 17.35.  Youngster 230 was doing his best to hide in the bracken bushes behind them.  He soon came and lay down beside cow 234.

Youngsters 219 and 222 were standing chewing their cud beside the little fence at the car park across from the first six.  Youngsters 217, 220 and 228 plus yearling 270 were lying down beside them, resting and chewing their cud.   They were all getting bothered by lots of flies and were constantly shaking them off their faces.

In my search for the seven older cows, I returned to the initial group at 18:50, and all but youngster 217 were up and munching on grass in the area around the car park.  After a short while, they set off, grazing along the east bank of the lake.   Youngster 217 stayed lying down and was in no rush to go after the others.

Eventually found cows 33 and 72 grazing in the area around ///human.point.flitting at the other end of the site at 19:40.   The other five cows were found a short time later around ///sensibly.joys.harps on the Caesar's/Gelvert fence line.  Cow 940 was lying down, resting under the trees.  Cows 20, 21, 30 and 35 were munching on leaves beside her before relaxing and chewing their cud.   Cows 33 and 72 joined them after a short while.

The cows were all good tonight.

All 13 cattle have been moved off of camp 45 and back over to Caeser's camp.

Monday 8th May - All 13 seen - cows all being bothered by flies

Youngsters 219 and 228 were standing on the path around ///nearly.hotdog.unfit at 13:50 this afternoon.  Sadly, their faces were covered in flies despite their best efforts to get rid of them.  The other eleven were all hiding amongst the trees.  They all slowly started to lie down and chew their cud except cows 35 and 940 who remained standing.

By 14:15 youngsters 219 and 228 had lay down around ///duck.boomer.refills and were joined by older cows 21 and 33 who wandered out from the trees to lie down near them.

Fully appreciate that flies are part of a cow's life, but there were lots of them around again today and the cows were very uncomfortable.  Are they due to be sprayed soon?  Other than that, the cows were all good today.
